At 8:01, a PG flew out of a burrow (1). She had not been previously detected. She flew over the water for 4 minutes, then flew back into the burrow at 8:05. All other PGs were on the water and did not visit burrows.
A variety of birds were seen at the site flying and diving. There are a couple King Fishers who may have nests in the woods close by, very vocal and angry at the group's presence. The PIGUs were also verbal but singing happy tune. When the tide came in at 8 am the PIGUs flew in groups to and fro. Near 8:30 one of the PIGUs had sculpin in its mouth. The PIGUs were all seen near site A.
gulls, blackbirds, kingfishers, blue heron, seal
8:12 spotted a group of 4 possible PIGUs far across Totten Inlet near mussel farm. A 5th bird flew in ~8:14. Hard to identify - could have been mergansers Matt C had identified last month. 4 stayed floating together around the old mussel barrels. I went ahead of other 4. 8:30 a second group of 17 came floating from north and joined the other 4. Confirmed they are PIGUs. 2 very small, immature over were swimming behind an adult.
