At 8:15 something spooked the guillemots so they all left the structure. This is the largest count we've ever had during the breeding season. I think many are usually invisible behind some of the boards on the structure.
Very strange day. Only 4 on the structure, 2 in the water and no cormorants when I arrived. Very strong current so they couldn't gather near the structure like they usually do. Still no prey. I wonder what's going on
Still no prey delivery. I was interrupted for about 5 minutes by some tourists watching orcas far out.
Almost no birds on the structure when I arrived but almost the entire colony was on the structure when I left.
There were 27 on the structure when I arrived. Something caused most of them to fly to the water. That's when I got the highest count. By 8 they had all left the structure. I could still spot a few in the water but they were away from the structure. None returned to the structure.
