disturbance - Eagle (?? - 8:20) (flee bluff or beach) When walking to beach, we noted birds fly off beach about 7:05 and saw eagle perched at north end of colony on arrival. Eagle flew between several perches around colony but remained in area around northern burrows until 8:10.While eagle in area, birds remained out in water. Once eagle left, birds began touch and go flights to bluff by 8:20. This only affected birds around northern burrows.

disturbance - Deer (7:49 - 7:55) (flee bluff or beach) Doe and two fawns came to water's edge to drink. Birds returned to beach within three minutes after deer walked off beach.

disturbance - Eagle (? - 7:21) () Eagle was perched between burrows 13 and S6 and more severely affected bird activity in areas south of burrow 16 where birds remained far out in water and off bluff throughout. Birds in northern part of colony also affected in that they stayed fairly far out in water although a few ventured to the bluff and perched there for short periods.

disturbance - Eagles (7:21 - ?) (flee bluff or beach, fly off water) The same eagle noted in disturbance #1 flew north over bluff and perched above bluff edge just north of the colony, was joined by another eagle around 7:25 and both remained perched there until past the end of survey. Birds in the northern 2/3 of colony remained far out from the shore and never made any flights near bluff for rest of survey. (Whereas birds in southern end of colony came back closer to shore and began visiting bluff.)

survey.note - Surf was unusually strong and visibility for counts hampered by waves, especially when birds were far out in water.
